With the membrane based hygienic cable entry plates, cables or pneumatic hoses can be quickly and space-efficiently routed into control cabinets, panels and machines and can be sealed with certified protection classes up to IP66 / IP68 (acc. to EN 60529). Hygienic icotek cable entry plates are cost, space and time saving alternatives to hygienic stainless steel cable glands. 

Hygienic design cable entry plates – very smooth surface

The hygienic cable entry plates KEL-DPZ-HD with metric threads from M32 to M63 have been developed for installation in food processing and packaging machinery.

During the development according to the Hygienic Design guidelines, care was taken to ensure that the visible sides of the cable entry plate are free of dirt-collecting recesses. The surface was kept very smooth. The value for the surface roughness (acc. to ISO 4287) is only Ra = 0,421 μm (arithmetic mean).

The outer contour has a radius of 6 mm instead of the required minimum of 3 mm.

The hygienic cable entry plates use an FDA-compliant elastomer in accordance with food approvals 1935/2004/EG and (EU) 10/2011.

In addition, hygienic icotek cable entry plates are detergent resistant (ECOLAB certified).

The hygienic cable entry plates are designed to route several cables and hoses with a diameter range of 3.2 mm to 22.2 mm and seal them acc. to IP65/66/67/68.

Hygienic ST-B-HD plugs (also available as detectable versions ST-B-HDD)  can be used for sealing pierced membranes if cables have been removed.

Significant advantages over hygienic stainless steel cable glands are the significantly higher cable density and the flexibility of the cable diameter range as well as great cost savings.

Hygienic cable management in food processing and packaging

In the field of cable routing and management in hygiene critical areas icotek offers detectable cables ties and holders for cable ties. These are particularly suitable for pharmaceutical applications and for the food industry.

The cable ties and cable tie holders consist of a combination of polymer compound and metal particles, which means that they are sorted out by metal detectors, X-ray machines and visual recognition systems. This is used to detect foreign objects in food.
